Underwater and outdoor enthusiasts, eco-­travelers and families are encouraged to celebrate the marine environment at Mote Marine Laboratory's annual event, Mote’s Ocean Fest: A Community Celebration. Attendees can meet live animals and experience touch tanks, view and purchase wares from local marine artists and vendors, enjoy live music, try their skill at active amusements and bid on silent auction items.

With activities ranging from a wacky bed race to a lighthearted sea battle featuring tall ships, the Conch Republic's 10-day birthday party showcases the independent and eccentric spirit that characterizes the Florida Keys.

Free Admission, First Day of National Park Week

Dry Tortugas National Park
The National Park Service is offering free entrance in celebration of National Park Week. At Dry Tortugas National Park, please check in with our official providers of transportation to the park for schedules, prices, and reservations. (All transportation departs from Key West.) Ferries and seaplanes leaving from Key West will waive park entrance fees.

Presented by Lazy Dog Adventures, the challenge includes a 12-mile Elite Race around the island and a 4-mile open race. Other events include a kick-off registration party, paddleboard clinics and races for kids. Compete with some of the nation’s finest paddlers! Our event is for our local community & visitors alike; you need not participate in the race to participate in the FUN!

Third Annual Papio Kinetic Sculpture Parade

If one man's junk is another man's treasure, then the late Key Largo folk artist Stanley Papio was a treasure hunter extraordinaire. Fans of "outsider art" can celebrate the renegade metal sculptor's legacy with a people-powered parade of mobile sculptures crafted in the spirit of his extraordinary creations. Parade kicks off in front of Custom House and proceeds down Duval Street to the Southernmost Beach Café.

The annual showcase of musical magic features America's foremost performing songwriters, with concerts staged in intimate, audience-friendly island settings. The largest festival of its kind in the world celebrates its 23 years as both a tourist attraction and favorite of island locals. The festival revolves around five days and nights of big stars in intimate settings, introducing audiences to the faces, voices and stories behind the songs.
