Key West Island Swim: FKCC Swim Around Key West

8:30am - 5:00pm
The officially sanctioned event is a 12.5-mile swim clockwise around the island of Key West that is open to all age groups. Individual swimmers and relay teams can compete. The route takes swimmers through the waters of the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico, ending where they began at Smathers Beach.

Mile High Key Lime Pie Eatin' Contest

Do you have what it takes to be crowned the Mile High Key Lime Pie Eatin' World Champion? This world famous event receives national media exposure and ranks among the sweetest competitive eating contests around. Not up for the challenge? Take a front row seat to cheer the champions as the brave contestants tie their hands behind their backs and dive face first into a mountain of Key Lime goodness. Doors open at 10am. Annual 4th of July Fireworks

Edward B Knight Pier at Higgs Beach
White Street Pier at Higg's Beach is the best place on land to watch the Key West 4th of July Fireworks. Or, book a cruise on one of Key West's many charter vessels and watch the fireworks from the water.

26th Annual Hemingway 5K Sunset Run/Walk & Paddleboard Race

5:30pm - 7:30pm

This is the original and oldest ongoing 5K Run in Key West and takes place as part of the the Annual Hemingway Days Festival. The race course is a scenic flat course that runs past Key West's most famous landmarks including the Ernest Hemingway Home, the iconic Southernmost Point and the famous Green Parrot Bar.

July 25-26
MINI Lobster Season

The mini lobster season is always the last consecutive Wednesday and Thursday in July. This year the mini season falls on July 25th and 26th. Make sure to always verify dates and regulations with Florida Fish & Wildlife at 305-743-2437. It begins at 12:01 am on Wednesday and ends at 12:00 midnight on Thursday. Proper licensing is required.
